Lit founder Danny Kim spoke at Percolate’s Transition conference back in July. Here’s his presentation:

What is the estimated date for mass production?

We’ll release mass production estimates in the future.

Well I think it’s obvious you will release it in the future…He was asking when an estimated time we might see mass production because surely you must have an estimated goal date… “the future” is extremely vague, that comment had no value.

      • Ashur George

I was assuming you would build a time machine in order to travel into the past to release mass production estimates…. thanks for the clarification Ryan.

So I should subscribe to Wired’s RSS feed for the new info? This has put a huge smile on my face! Super excited!

I’m like your horrible ex-girlfriend stalking your facebook everyday for any signs of “cheating” lol. Luckily you changed your phone number! But on a serious note, looking forward to all and any updates!

I like the idea….but the battery powering the stabiliser and the motor….how long does it last…cant be long!

    • http://litmotors.com Lit Motors

Our current estimates are for up to 200 miles per charge! =)

Actually, the lighter and more streamlined you can make an electric vehicle, the more efficient it becomes and the further it will go. Or, the smaller you can make the relatively expensive battery, thus making it even more efficient and more affordable. The battery-weight issue reminds me of the “tyranny of the rocket equation”. Anyway, once spinning this stabilizer system should be much of a burden on the battery; I think considerably less so than if any extra wheels were added for stabilization instead. Also, I don’t see why it shouldn’t be possible to spin up the gyros before detaching from a charger in order to add a bit more range.

Will you guys sell this in Europe (Poland)? Will it be finance only or leasing as well? I would seriously consider buying this over a scooter or motorcycle for urban transport!

Eventually, yes! We’ll release details about financing options in the future.

Adopting many of the principles of approach from Gordon Murray and Hugo Spowers – a few key differentials of course. Great minds at work here which is always exciting to see. Good for you Mr Kim!
